Article "How a legitimate person will contact the domain owner if privacy protection is enabled?"
Once Privacy Protection is enabled for a domain name, the Contact Details of the domain are completely hidden, and a generic who-is information is shown in whois results. So you are completely protected from spammers and any other persons who use whois information to collect email addresses. However if a legitimate person tries to contact you, he will be able to reach you using the following steps. Please note that your contact info is still not passed to him.
• All postal mail will be rejected on the address displayed in your whois.
• Telephone calls are received, but advised to email for further.
• Anyone who emails to the privacy protection service email address, a URL is passed back. Using this URL one can send a message to registrant, technical, billing or administrative contact.
