Article "What is domain authorization code, EPP code or domain transfer secret?"
A Domain (Transfer) Secret, Authorization Code or EPP code is a code assigned by the Domain Registrar. It is assigned when the domain is registered. This code acts as a password for registered domain. This is an extra security measure built to ensure that only domain registrant can transfer the domain.
If you plan to transfer any of the following domain, you will need to have this secret code from the current/losing registrar.
- .com
- .net
- .org
- .info
- .biz
- .us
- .cc (optional)
- .tv (optional)
- .in.name
- .bz
- .mn
- .mobi
- .coop
The EPP code is available within the domain control panel in domain management area.
